Living In Cedar Hill

Welcome to our city!

TSSM is located in Cedar Hill, TX, a suburb of southwest Dallas County.

Boasting a beautiful and dynamic state park and lake along our western border, with plenty of green space and rolling hills throughout, Cedar Hill is known as ‘the Hill Country of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.’

TSSM, by design, does not have dorms or offer any official student housing. Instead, we encourage students to live in surrounding neighborhoods and get jobs in the local area. Cedar Hill hosts an ethnically and culturally diverse population, a vibrant economic sector featuring major shopping, dining and entertainment, and many natural amenities such as Joe Pool Lake, beautiful family-friendly parks, and an extensive hike/bike trail system.

Once enrolled, TSSM students are given access to a private listing of housing opportunities available through Trinity Church families and community contacts. TSSM’s Housing List also includes contact information for local realtors willing to help TSSM students navigate the commercial housing market. Information about other TSSM  students looking for room/house mates is provided on this list as well.  Please note that all housing is provided on a case-by-case basis.

In order to help prepare students to navigate the rental process and find a good housing arrangement, we are providing a housing guide. This guide will help students plan ahead and properly research housing opportunities for making well-informed decisions. Be advised that TSSM has no involvement with individual housing situations, as we expect our students to work them out with their landlords and roommates in a responsible manner.

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field Airport are each a 30-minute driving distance to the TSSM campus. The easiest form of ground transportation is with the use of a car. Walking and biking are also options if you live close to the school. Some transportation alternatives that will require a little more planning include ride-sharing and Uber (an inexpensive, on-demand private driver service.)

Medical care can be expensive, so we recommend you have health insurance coverage already in place before enrolling. An urgent care facility and a 24-hour emergency room is available in Cedar Hill, along with several medical clinics and private practices. Major hospitals are located just 10-15 minutes outside of Cedar Hill. Please note that many hospitals and physicians may not provide patient care without evidence of a policy.

Cedar Hill and the southwest Dallas region is a great place for growing families and there are many choices for schooling and childcare. As TSSM does not provide childcare, we have listed some options below to help families transition to this area.

Trinity Christian School (TCS)

TCS, an extension of Trinity Church Ministries, provides a complete preschool through 12th grade educational experience in a spiritual atmosphere based on a biblical worldview, enabling students to become outstanding Christian leaders in society.
